DOLCE AND Cantabile choir director

Soprano Emily Chu is a graduate of the University of Maryland. She received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance under the tutelage of Carmen Balthrop. She also received a Bachelor of Music Education with a concentration in choral and general music education. Ms Chu has sung with the University of Maryland Concert Choir in several highly esteemed collaborations with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, she joined their chorus for the Carnegie Hall Performance of Rossini's Stabat Mater with the NSO. She has also had solos with the University of Maryland's University Chorale. In 2018, Emily Chu was selected to conduct a passage of Brahms 1 in a conducting masterclass with Maestro Matthew Halls.  Ms Chu is currently a general music and choral teacher with MCPS. She has been working with Glorystar since 2014 and is the conductor for the Cantabile Choir and the Dolce Choir.
