Chris Fox

Chris Fox (M. Ed.) is the Director of Choruses at Bonnie Branch Middle School in Howard County, MD. Mr. Fox received degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and The University of Loyola, Baltimore. He received his Kodály certification from The American Kodály Institute. He has twice been awarded “Teacher of the Year” and served for eight years as adjunct faculty for the University of Mary Washington Theatre Department. Mr. Fox is an active guest conductor for honors choirs throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. He is Co-Director for the Howard County All-County Honors Chorus (6th Grade) and Glorystar High School Treble and Chamber Choruses (Rockville, MD). He regularly presents workshops to educators across the tri-state area and serves as the Music Theory Instructor at Young Artists of America Summer Performing Arts Intensive Camp. Under his direction, the Bonnie Branch Middle School Concert Chorus was chosen as the demo chorus for Henry Leck at MMEA's 2018 State Conference.

His choral compositions, Kyrie Eleison and Fly Away, are internationally distributed through Hal Leonard Corporation and several of his choral compositions are under consideration. In 2014, Mr. Fox was commissioned by The Fairfax Choral Society to compose a poem setting for their Annual Poetry of Music Fine Arts Project. Awake My Song premiered in March 2015. Other recent composers for this project have been Stephen Hatfield, Betty Bertaux and Jim Papoulis. In 2017, Mr. Fox was commissioned by two schools to compose songs in memory of classmates who were tragically taken from them.
